Hi friends! Our living room was in desperate need of a new area rug and with young kids in the home we wanted a budget friendly option.
My goal was to find a light and bright rug, low pile, size 9×12, that had a pattern to add interest and to disguise potential stains, for under $200. See blow for my top picks for the final transformation!
Amazon is typically my go to spot for area rugs due to their budget-friendly options, fast delivery and easy return policy.
When it comes to brands, I’ve had great luck with Safavieh and highly recommend them for their quality and price. In fact, I have three Safavieh rugs in my home today and three of my top picks were also from that brand. Here were the contenders!
Our former rug was also by Safavieh and was a thicker shag that was well loved! The thick fibers were perfect for the kids and it didn’t require a rug pad. Additionally, the darker “taupe” color disguised everything; it was just time for a refresh!
If you’re looking for a thick, plush rug at a great price point I highly recommend it. It’s also available in several colors and sizes!
TADA! Option 2 was the winner and I’m so in love with it! The color is “light grey / ivory”, however it has a light blue hue; which perfectly pairs with the rest of the room. We added a 3/8” rug pad and it’s the perfect fit! What do you think?!
The floral throw pillow covers are a B Collection item and are in stock now! Everything else is linked below!
